New Priest in Algiers

Craig and Elaine Watson look forward to moving to Algiers where Craig will take up the role of Rector at Holy Trinity.

Both Craig and Elaine have extensive backgrounds in education and Craig has been an ordained priest since the early 2000s. They have served in Bradford and Manchester dioceses and, more recently, in Nepal with CMS. They have been involved in ICS short-term chaplaincies for many years and look forward to taking on this permanent chaplaincy role.

In the magazine Bible Lands, a resource of the Jerusalem and the Middle East Association, Craig and Elaine tell a bit more about themselves. You can read the story here.

Please pray for them as they prepare to move to Algiers:

‘As we arrive in Algiers, the immediate challenges are for the Lord to provide the right accommodation, for the practical things like bank accounts, driving licenses, and similar things to be sorted out so that we can settle in well. Getting to know the people at Holy Trinity is a priority for us. Especially to build good relationships with key post holders such as wardens, PCC members and others in leadership roles. Settling into Algiers requires us to get to know people in the wider community. We are looking to the Lord to guide us to the right people in the wider community such as those in the British and other English-speaking diplomatic communities, key businesspeople, key members of other churches, and others who we should get to know. Holy Trinity is part of the wider Diocese of North Africa in the Province of Alexandria; we need to build up good working relationships with the Diocesan Bishop and the clergy within the Diocese. We also need to begin the process of formulating the vision for Holy Trinity’s development into the near future.’
