What We Do and Why

ICS is an Anglican mission society that was founded 200 years ago. We want to help people find Jesus and seek to share the good news of Christ with English-speaking people (of which there are around 1.5 billion worldwide) by encouraging, equipping, and planting local churches throughout the world.

ICS is delighted to have mission partners serving in various locations around the world. Our mission partners minister in areas where ICS serves as Patron or those who have chosen to become ICS Associates.  They fall into four categories:

 1. Patronage Chaplains – Appointed with ICS involvement in the selection process.

2. Associate Chaplains – Individuals who request to be linked with ICS.

3. Patronage Assistants – Appointed by the senior chaplain where ICS holds patronage.

4. Assistant Associate Chaplains – Appointed by our associates.

All chaplains linked to ICS work under the license and authority of their Diocesan Bishop.

We offer Short-term Mission in European holiday destinations served by teams of volunteer chaplains.

What matters to ICS is seeing people encounter new life in Christ. We are about mission! We value the Bible as our guide and authority, we value integrity and excellence in all that we do, we value partnership and seek to work with others whenever possible, we value ministering at the frontiers, and we value volunteers. This unique combination makes ICS who we are today.

Thank you for standing with us as we develop the amazing opportunities before us.
