Recruitment and Short-term Mission Manager

Are you passionate about mission, recruitment, and making a difference in international chaplaincies? ICS seeks an exceptional individual to take on the dual role of Recruitment and Short-Term Mission Manager. This unique opportunity combines two vital functions within our organisation, ensuring the smooth appointment of chaplains and the successful management of short-term mission programmes.
Role Overview
As Recruitment Manager, you will oversee and manage the recruitment of chaplains in ICS patronage chaplaincies, ensuring best practices in line with Church of England guidelines. Your role will involve collaborating with bishops and archdeacons, visiting chaplaincies, chairing interviews, and maintaining safeguarding standards.
As Short-Term Mission Manager, you will develop and manage ICS’s short-term mission strategy, recruiting and supporting short-term chaplains, overseeing mission resources in locations such as Zermatt and Wengen, and ensuring smooth operation within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment Manager:
· Lead the recruitment of chaplains, ensuring compliance with best practices.
· Collaborate with bishops, archdeacons, and chaplaincies to support and advise during recruitment.
· Chair interviews, both online and in-person, and train interview panel volunteers.
· Travel within Europe to visit chaplaincies, providing guidance and strategic support.
· Maintain safeguarding standards across all recruitment activities.
Short-term Mission Manager:
· Develop and implement the short-term mission strategy, ensuring its success.
· Recruit, train, deploy, and support short-term chaplains and volunteers.
· Oversee the management of ICS mission locations, ensuring resources are well-maintained.
· Manage budgets and fundraising initiatives for mission activities.
· Build relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring continued mission opportunities.
We are looking for someone who is
· Ordained in the Church of England.
· A strategic thinker with strong organisational and leadership skills.
· Experienced in recruitment, mission work, or pastoral ministry.
· Able to work independently and as part of a team, engaging with international partners.
· Willing to travel internationally and work flexible hours.
· Commited to safeguarding and the mission of ICS.
