Gulf Churches Fellowship

In the third week of January, St Martin’s Sharjah hosted the Gulf Churches Fellowship (GCF) AGM that ran over three days. The meeting was attended by around sixty leaders from the Anglican, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox and Protestant families.

The theme of the AGM was the 1700 anniversary of the Council of Nicaea.  St Martin’s not only hosted it, but their Priest, Fr Drew Schmotzer, was the Moderator of the GCF and re-elected moderator for a second term.  We praise God for the church unity that took place during the Week for Christian Unity, and for the possibility to visit the Armenian Orthodox Church, the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Roman Catholic Church, and the Indian Orthodox Church in Sharjah, as well as St Francis Catholic Church at the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi.
