New Work
New Work is an essential part of what ICS is about. Pioneering is in our DNA, be it planting ministries like the church in Leipzig, supporting pioneering chaplaincies such as in Izmir, or developing new work in Corfu, it is what we do. In 2023, we celebrated 200 years of ICS. To commemorate, ICS Council committed to giving £200,000 to stimulate and support New Mission Work, reaffirming our commitment to making Jesus known.
Two projects due to start in 2024 are:
The financial support of the growing chaplaincy in Liège, for mission and outreach. Liège is a busy industrial town with a large migrant population and there are many opportunities that Chaplain Guy Diakiese is well placed to develop.
Secondly, ICS is underwriting the salary costs of a new Priest at St Marc's Grenoble for the next three years. St Marc's is a vibrant, growing church that cannot afford ordained paid leadership due to the make-up and background of the people in the church at this time. ICS will support this post seeking to provide a breathing space for ministry to develop and to maximise the great opportunities that are present.
