On Sunday 26 February, Jenni Pridmore was licensed as the new Incumbent of St. Mary’s, Rotterdam.
Andrew Gready, Chaplain at St. John and St. Philip, The Hague, was there to present Jenni on behalf of ICS. He writes: ‘It was a joyful occasion–the church was full, and there were representatives of church and civic organisations present to welcome Jenni, her husband Jason and their family, as she began her ministry at St. Mary’s. Paul Vrolijk, Archdeacon of North West Europe, was officiating at his first licensing and given the close links there are between the chaplaincy and the Mission to Seafarers base in Rotterdam, it was good to have Jake Pass with us, representing MtS.
Jenni was welcomed with gifts, prayers and a luminous Chaplain’s jacket for her work in the port. Paul preached on the Transfiguration, the theme of the day. It was good to be there to welcome Jenni, and along with all the prayers said at the service, let us all continue to pray for her and the people of St. Mary’s in their ministry to Rotterdam and the port.
A wonderful reception was held afterwards, with two of the biggest cakes I have ever seen!’
