Licensing in Izmir

On a warm evening in a bustling city we gathered in a little church on the side of a busy road junction for a special service.

There were many reasons the licensing in Izmir was special.  We have been praying and waiting for the right person to take on this role, so we were delighted to support the diocese in their appointment of James Buxton.  The church is a special place where God is at work.  Sharing the service with so many other Christians from various denominations and group.  The sheer joy at the potential of the next phase.

As we shared the peace the armed police office guarding the door looked in, he found himself shaking hands with strangers.

We continue to pray for the people at St. John’s and specifically James as he settles into his new role.
