Cycling beyond Kilimanjaro
Our seasonal chaplain David Wilson and his son James are undertaking an amazing cycle ride in October 2017 to raise funds for ICS. They will cycle 350KMs across Tanzania from the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, through both Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks, to finish at the Ngorongoro Crater Reserve–not bad for a clergyman who is nearly 50!!
David writes: ‘For my son James and I this might be the last great adventure we have together before he goes to university. When we were discussing which charities we would like to support we both agreed that ICS should be a beneficiary’.
David has served with ICS ever since he was a curate in Chester Diocese between 2000 and 2003 at the parish church of Nantwich. He says ‘ICS has been the backdrop of our family life together where we served in Interlaken, Wengen, Zermatt and Kandersteg.
Over the many times we have been to Switzerland I cannot begin to remember the numerous opportunities I have had to share the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I fully support ICS’s ambition to preach Christ throughout the numerous chaplaincies it supports throughout Europe and further afield and not least in the seasonal churches of Zermatt and Wengen, to which our funds will go towards’.
They have some generous supporters who will cover the cost of the cycle ride and therefore all the money that you donate will go directly towards the mission of the churches in Wengen and Zermatt. Already he has raised £1070 towards this ministry.
Please support them in their cycle challenge and donate through the ICS website and add ‘Cycle Challenge’ in the comments box. Alternatively, donate by phoning the ICS office on +44 (0)24-7646 3940 or send a cheque to Intercontinental Church Society, marking it ‘Cycle Challenge’. We have also set up a JustGiving page here.
Your support is very much appreciated! Thank you.
