Tour de France outreach in Eymet: ‘Water of Life’

On Wednesday 12 July, the village of Eymet hosted 15,000 visitors for stage 11 of the Tour de France, many passing directly in front of the entrance to the Eymet Temple, where weekly Fresh Expressions services are held. The Eymet Temple was established as one of the ‘meeting points’ of the event, and with the support of Allan and Julia Petchey, the congregation took advantage of the opportunity to be a beacon of light and living water during this event.

Update from Chile

Simon and Clare Brignall are ICS mission partners working in Chile and have been in the country for nearly two years. Here, they describe what has been happening over the last year: ‘We have done a series of bible studies, and three retreats over the last year, as well as some Messy Church services. We hope to continue with this over the next two years or so. We also plan to move to Valparaíso. Clare is now teaching in a school in the prison and also teaching Haitian immigrants, and hopes that that will continue when we return in September, as it is proving very rewarding and a real privilege.

New Chaplain at Chantilly

On a warm early summer evening, walking down the hill to St. Peter’s, Chantilly, I turned the corner to find a hive of activity.  Food being prepared, people setting up the church, music being rehearsed.  The atmosphere was one of great joy and celebration.  Bishop Robert, Archdeacon Meurig, Debbie Flach, Olaf Eriksson, Alyson Lamb and a host of clergy from other traditions present to celebrate with the church the licensing of Sarah Tillett.
