New Mission in Rotterdam

Humayun Sunil was licensed as Assistant Chaplain at St. Mary’s Rotterdam on Tuesday 15 May by Archdeacon Paul Vrolijk.  It was a great moment and the culmination of a process that we had been working on for over a year.

Pockets of Light

Thank you for generating wider prayer for our outreach here in Ibiza. A Spirit Day took place in April and there has been amazing progress culminating in our entrance into the Spirit Day Fayre through our participation in the ‘Storytelling Project’. God orchestrated some events far beyond our plans, so we are convinced that ‘The heart of man plans his way, but God establishes his steps’ Proverbs 16:9.

ICS Conference

The week of the ICS Chaplains and Families’ Conference that took place from 30 April-4 May was a time full of opportunities to share; learn; worship God and have fun together. For a group of chaplains from unique international settings, the title of ‘The International Minister’ was aptly named. Each day delved into different aspects of living cross-culturally, working inter-culturally and thinking internationally.

In the week prior to Easter, the Rector Nicholas Mercer took part in a service of Holy Communion with the Bishop of Buenos Aires, the Right Reverend Hugh Allen (Apostolic Administrator of the Falkland Islands) and Father John Wisdom at the Argentine cemetery in Darwin.

Confirmation at Bertric Burée

Bishop Robert had a busy weekend in Aquitaine. Having ordained Charlotte Sullivan so joyously on Saturday 17 in Bordeaux we were pleased to welcome him at Bertric Burée to confirm nine candidates on Sunday 18 where the church had been beautifully decorated.
