St. Peter’s Zermatt

The church has a significant place in Alpine history; the fame of Zermatt (particularly in the light of the Matterhorn disaster of 1865  means that many visitors attend the church. The church contains commemorative plaques to famous Alpinists (including several members of the British Alpine Club) and others such as a RAF pilot who died in 1940. Several mountaineers are also buried here including Charles Hudson who died in the Matterhorn disaster.

ICS provides the chaplains who conduct services and owns and maintains the building. More information on St. Peter’s .
